    Hi everyone!
One of the biggest shifts we’ve seen in recent years is how modernization and cloud adoption have made remote and hybrid work possible for more businesses. 😎

How has your company approached this modernization process?

Are you fully remote, hybrid, or still office-based?
Which work arrangement do you think works better for your business?

    Let's compare notes

Why don’t you start by introducing yourself here?

    Hi Walter_G ,
I am NOT a full-time empoyee anymore and the team I work with are in a different city in India (same timezone).
In the last decade, I have experienced both options - fully office-based, fully-remote! And even a mix!

While I agree that working remote is entirely POSSIBLE, it doesnt seem to build the same degree of comfort / camaraderie / informal learning opportunities / collaboration as fully-office-based.
My personal favorite has been a few hours at office each day - eye-to-eye, shoulder-to-shoulder, and continue the chatter / discussions / collaboration from wherever after that.

    cheers,
    kk

Hi Krishna, interesting point of view. Great that you’ve tried different combinations of remote and in-office work. It’s also the first time I’ve heard of a hybrid setup where people spend a few hours in the office every day, rather than alternating full days in the office and at home.

I agree with you that, with a few exceptions, it’s now almost always technologically possible to work remotely thanks to modernisation and cloud migration.

Personally, I support a hybrid model where people meet at least twice a week. Like you, I’m a fan of spontaneous (almost passive) learning that happens naturally just by being around the team in person. It’s important to get to know your teammates by observing behaviours that you can only really notice offline, in real life.

How did the system of spending just a few hours in the office each day work, krishna-ki-shore-amer ? Did the team agree to all come in together in the mornings or afternoons, or could people just pop in whenever they wanted?

Let’s hear from everyone - can your team work remotely?
